Constructed Paintings

At an early point in my artistic career, I wanted to merge painting and sculpture. So, I began constructing stretcher bars out of wood, covering them with canvas, and painting them with acrylic paint while adding encaustic elements. The results are listed below.

"Broken"

Acrylic, encaustic, string, wood, and canvas

36" X 18"

"Silent Death"

Acrylic, encaustic, strong, wood, and canvas

36" X 15"

"Entanglement"

Acrylic, mesh, encaustic, on canvas

20" X 12"

Working on shaped canvas I wanted to explore creating a sculpted canvas shape.

"Black as Night"

Acrylic, string, encaustic, wood, and canvas

20" X 22"

Working on shaped canvas I wanted to explore multiple materials.

"Flight"

Acrylic, encaustic, mesh, and canvas

32" X 45"

Working on shaped canvas I wanted to create a sculpture that expressed movement.
